50 iCon Design Objectives

The primary focus in iCon collection is to ensure that the illustration styles translates elegantly on all formats while providing the flexibility needed to create more illustrations on record time.

Flexible – Modular – Lightweight – Compatible

iCon is a collection of illustrations using pictograms or ideograms to represent any idea, object, living being or process. illustraStock is creating the set of conditions that provides a system in which illustrations grow or develop:

An ideogram or ideograph is a graphic symbol that represents an idea or concept, independent of any particular language, and specific words or phrases.

A pictogram, also called a pictogramme, pictograph, or simply picto, and in computer usage an icon, is an ideogram that conveys its meaning through its pictorial resemblance to a physical object. They differ from ideograms as these are more schematic, summarized and abstract; Pictograms are more concrete.

As the standardization and speed is the top priority of illustraStock, all the illustrations must start from a Template. The iCon collection follows a 64 px grid (4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1.024px).
